STAR™ Total Ankle Replacement to be featured on Fox Business Network beginning June 30, 2012

NEW YORK, NY: June 29, 2012, –Small Bone Innovations, Inc.'s STAR™ total ankle replacement system will be featured on the new 21st Century Health program to be aired on Fox Business Network, June 30, 2012.

Since its introduction following FDA approval in 2009, the STAR has become the ankle replacement market leader, based largely on its demonstrated superiority to ankle fusion. It is rapidly becoming the new 'Gold Standard' in the treatment of late-stage ankle arthritis.

The new 21st Century Health program features interviews with SBi's founder and executive chairman, Dr.h.c. Anthony G. Viscogliosi, Executive Chairman and Thomas O. Clanton MD, the head of the foot & ankle practice at the renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO.

Today's $3 billion small bone and joint market is highly fragmented. The larger orthopedics companies have focused almost exclusively on hip, knee and spine treatments. This emphasis has meant that surgeons and patients needing innovative upper and lower limb product systems have been neglected and underserved.

Small Bone Innovations (SBi), founded in 2004, was the first orthopedics company to focus exclusively on this sector and has the highest average annual growth rate in the sector. No product exemplifies this more than the STAR™ Total Ankle Replacement, the only FDA approved 3-part, mobile bearing, implant.

Since its introduction following FDA approval in 2009, the STAR has become the ankle replacement market leader, based largely on its demonstrated superiority to ankle fusion. It is rapidly becoming the new 'Gold Standard' in the treatment of late-stage ankle arthritis.

J.L. Haber, Vice President of Programming at Multi Media Productions, the show's producer, said: "In our search for companies that are truly making a difference in their industry, SBi stood out as a leader. We are pleased to have selected them to appear in an upcoming feature."

21st Century Health airs on various national cable networks that are viewed by over 100 million viewers nationwide as well as internationally via DirecTV and Dish Network. The 21CHTV Series is also available at more than 27 educational institutions including Carnegie Mellon University, Howard University, Dartmouth College and Georgetown University.
