Enhanced Online News 2010, Dr.h.c. Anthony G. Viscogliosi, Executive Chairman, to Receive International Equity Financing Award from Leading U.S. Investment Banking Publication The M&A Advisor, a leading investment banking publication, selected Dr.h.c. Anthony G. Viscogliosi, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Small Bone Innovations, Inc. (SBi), as a recipient of the International Equity Financing of the Year award. Mr. Viscogliosi will receive the award at a luncheon in New York on September 27th.
The M&A Advisor 2010, International Equity Financing of the Year: Dr.h.c. Anthony G. Viscogliosi, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Small Bone Innovations, Inc. (SBi) received the award for the private equity, Series D funding of $113 million of SBi. The funding, which commenced in late 2008 was completed in November 2009, a period of virtual paralysis in the capital markets.
2nd Annual International M&A Advisor Awards 2010, Equity Financing Deal of the Year in the Major Deal Category. Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of the M&A Advisor said, “With M&A activity increasing worldwide, each award recipient has excelled in their field and is truly deserving of the honor.”
New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) 2010: Conferred upon the orthopedics industry benefactor, Dr.h.c. Anthony G. Viscogliosi, the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters-Honors Causa. The degree is conferred as a way of honoring a distinguished visitor’s contributions to a specific field, or to society in general.
The Wall Street Journal: The Next Big Thing 2010: Number 24 on The Wall Street Journal’s list of “The Top 50 Venture-Backed Companies” in 2010, highlighting SBi’s track record of executing “a total of 32 acquisitions, licensing and distribution agreements for its portfolio of more than 60 products...The company has garnered 3% of the $2 billion small bone market.”
Red Herring Winner 2007: A 2007 recipient of Red Herring magazine’s annual “Red Herring 100 Global” award, recognized as one of the world’s leading technology companies.
Frost & Sullivan Award 2007, North American Entrepreneurial Company of the Year: SBi was selected for its focus “on tissue-based and ‘life-altering’ treatment technologies, has established their position in the $35 billion and still growing orthopedic industry.”
Red Herring Winner 2006: A 2006 recipient of Red Herring magazine’s annual “Red Herring 100 North America” award, recognized as one of the nation’s leading technology companies and the only orthopedic device company selected among an initial entry of more than 1,000 firms.
Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry Magazine, 50 Companies to Watch 2006: MDDI noted that, “Small Bone Innovations is going against the grain in its determination to become a market leader in the small bone & joint device sector.”

The M&A Advisor 2010, 40 UNDER 40 M&A Advisor Recognition Awards. Marc R. Viscogliosi, a Principal of New York merchant bank Viscogliosi Bros. LLC, won received the inaugural award. The publication noted, “Mr. Viscogliosi was responsible for several key investment opportunities in ‘non-fusion’ spinal devices and was one of the first Wall Street investment bankers to specialize in orthopedics. He has executed more than 190 transactions as principal or agent, buyer or seller.”

Orthopedics This Week Spine Technology Awards 2009: 2009 Spine Technology Award in the Motion Preservation category: Paradigm Spine, LLC was selected for its DSS Spine Stabilization System. Paradigm Spine’s DSS Spine Stabilization System was among the 26 new technologies for back care selected as “Best New Technology for 2009.”
