VB Business Model

Since the company's inception, VB's business model has been straightforward. VB invests capital into healthcare technologies that combine cutting-edge innovation from the fields of science, technology, and medicine, so that patients receive the most advanced solutions to meet their increasingly complex needs. From the patient's bedside to the lab and back, VB works closely with surgeons, manufacturers, engineers, and the patients to solve unmet clinical needs by identifying a demand first, and then creating a technology to fill that demand. This model has provided returns in significant excess to the market for our partners.

VB executes its business model by providing direct strategic and operational leadership to its companies' Boards of Directors, management teams, and employees. VB understands all of the essential aspects of establishing a successful neuro-musculoskeletal/orthopedic business, and ensures that its investments are supplied with the resources needed to thrive.

VB believes that investment success is contingent upon 2 important elements:

1. Financial acumen: the ability to structure investment vehicles that supply investors with opportunities to exceed returns provided by the public market

2. Experience managing, building, operating, and exiting businesses so that investment success and failure is not based upon laws of averages, but rather the ability to execute a precise formula, generated from real business successes and failures, that is responsible for producing consistent positive returns over an extended period of time.

As of late, depressed venture capital & private equity fund returns attest to the fact that large, passive institutional investors with little operational experience and short anticipated exit horizons are largely unsuccessful. VB, with its breadth of neuro-musculoskeletal & orthopedic experience, its long-term investment commitment, and track record in consistently developing successful neuro-musculoskeletal companies is optimally positioned to succeed in the current market. Accordingly, VB chooses to invest its own money in each of its ventures and is wholly committed to each venture's success.
